Back To Top Meet the outstanding faculty of Encore Studios Mandi Little – Our Owner/Director has dedicated over 23 years to dance performance and 15 years to dance education. During this time she has been recognized internationally for outstanding talent, performed with a select group of dancers from across the US as an All American Hula Bowl Dancer, appeared as a Laker Girl Dancer in the movie Eddie with Whoopi Goldberg, and was a founding member of the King David Dance Co. Mandi has trained extensively with renowned instructors from New York and Los Angeles such as Ray Leeper, Keith Stewart, Gene Anthony Ray (Leroy from Fame), Doug Caldwell, Terry Lindholm, Alan Onickel, and was demonstrator for tap master and Tony Award winner Henry LeTang. She has studied ballet with Fanchon Cordell of the North Carolina School of the Arts, the late Salvatore Aiello of North Carolina Dance Theatre, and Claudia Folts, director of the school of the Charlotte City Ballet. Danielle Everett – Danielle Everett was born and raised in North Carolina where she studied dance starting at the young age of four. As a competition dancer Danielle won numerous regional and national awards. After one year at UNC-Wilmington where Danielle was a member of the varsity dance team, she had the opportunity to attend Dance Excellence, An International Dance Festival in Los Angeles as a scholarship winner. While in LA, Danielle auditioned for the Young Americans, a California-based performing arts company. As a member of the company, she traveled and taught in Japan, Germany, Holland, Luxemburg and all over the US. In addition, she stage directed a tour in Germany for The Young Americans. Danielle has spent the last five years dancing onboard Carnival Cruise Lines! Danielle lives and breathes dance. It has always been and will always be her passion in life. She is extremely excited to pass on her love and knowledge of dance to children of all ages! Lauren Hinson – Recreational Instructor/Assistant to Director for Competitive teams: Lauren has been part of the dance world for over fifteen years. For the majority of those years, She studied at Encore Studios where she was a part of our national champion competition team for ten years, which greatly furthered her education in dance allowing her to train with such teachers as Doug Caldwell, Justin Giles and Cindy Ricalde. She has worked under some of the amazing faculty at Encore Studios as a student apprentice and began teaching her own classes last year. Lauren currently attends the University of South Carolina-Lancaster, where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She has a gentle nature and a gift for working with our youngest pre-school dancers. Holly Ratliffe – Baton Instructor: Holly has been twirling for 23 years. Twelve of those years were under the instruction of Melanie Morse Lyon with Majorette’s by Melanie in Wadesboro, NC. She spent 6 years on her middle/high school majorette teams and then went on to twirl at Appalachian State University for 4 years. At Appalachian State Holly received her Bachelor degree in Graphic Arts and Imaging Technology. She is still currently active twirling with the Alumni Majorette’s for the past 8 years at ASU for the Alumni Band day football game. Holly has helped high school and college level girls with baton in the past. Throughout her years as a majorette she has twirled at Walt Disney World, Florida Citrus Bowl, numerous festivals, football games, parades, (including the London New Year’s Day parade in London). She hopes to instill her love of baton twirling in her students and bring the art of twirling back to the area. Ally Riddle – Competition Instructor / Recreational Instructor / Assistant to the Director: The newest edition to Encore Studio’s Faculty. Miss Ally grew up training in all forms of dance (although Contemporary is her favorite genre) in the Cincinnati OH area and was a very successful competitive dancer winning numerous regional and national awards. Upon graduating high school, she moved to Los Angeles CA where she studied dance and worked as a performing professional. In addition to being a sought after guest choreographer for competition teams across the country, she has been an assistant choreographer for Marissa Osato, Erica Sobol even preparing submissions for “So You Think You Can Dance”. Ally was a member and Assistant Choreographer for collidE dance company and worked with Boogiezone Utopia while in Los Angeles. Since that time she has been a faculty member and competition instructor at dance schools in OH. We are excited to have Ally join our team and share her enthusiasm and love for dance with all ages and levels. Savannah Schoenborn – Recreational Instructor: Savannah has upwards of 13 yrs experience in the dance field with early training at Griffin Ballet School (GA) and a member of the Award winning Competition Team at Sullivan Dance Centre in Charlotte NC. In addition she spent 3 years as a member of the Marvin Ridge High School Dance team leading her to a wide range of performance experience ranging from classical ballets (Swan Lake & The Nutcracker) to dancing at the Orange Bowl Halftime Show. Currently Savannah is a dance performance major at Winthrop University and has also taught classes for the Ballantyne YMCA and Westminster Church in Rock Hill. Savannah’s bright personality and attention to detail lead the dancers to have a blast while learning proper technique. Jessica Thompson – Recreational Program/Competition Instructor: Jessica comes to Encore with 20 yrs. experience in the dance field receiving much of her early training at Dianne’s School of Dance in Greenville, SC where she danced as a member of the National Champion Starz Artistic Performing Co. for over 10 yrs. She has trained with renowned master teachers such as Ray Leeper, Dee Caspary, Martha Nichols, Bobby Newberry and Napolean D’umo. She graduated from Winthrop University with a major in Psychology and minor in Dance where she was also a member of the Eaglette Dance Team. She brings tons of energy and passion to her classes and loves working with all ages. Kelly Walker – Assistant to Director/Competition Instructor: As Encore’s First Student, Kelly grew up dancing under Mandi and has 23 years of dance experience. While a member of Encore’s Competition Co. she has received many regional and national overall High Score awards/scholarships and was twice named NYCDA outstanding Dancer. She is an alumni of the NYCDA Summer Intensive program where she trained with the best in the business in NYC. She is a graduate of Clemson University where she also spent 4 years on the athletic dance team, The Rally Cats. Her senior year she served as the captain of the team. Most recently Kelly’s dancing has taken her around the world as a professional dancer for Royal Caribbean International and Azamara Club cruises as a featured dancer in the production shows. Jessie Vicic – Acro / Tumbling: Jessie comes to Encore with 8 years of competitive gymnastics training along with 10 years of competitive dance experience, with most experience competing and teaching Acro at various studios in Ontario, Canada. When she was 11 years old, she won the pre-national provincial championships in Ontario Gymnastics, winning gold medal in the overall over 60 other gymnasts that year. Along with several other awards and recognition such as best dance on floor, best leaps on the beam, and the “expression” award for various floor routines. Along side gymnastics, Jessie was training heavily in the dance realm as well. In 2008, she was the 2nd runner up Junior Miss Dance at MDMA pageant, the same year winning a full scholarship to NYCDA’s intensive summer camp, as well as being named a Junior Outstanding Dancer. In the following three years, she won several scholarships and overall awards for her Acro solos and duets. Although she heavily focused on Acro, she was well balanced in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical and Contemporary as well. Kristin Ramirez – Assistant Instructor/office staff: Kristin was born and raised in North Carolina where she danced competitively with Miss Donna’s School of Dancing for 15 years, and spent 2 years as a member of the Marvin Ridge High School Dance Team. As a competitive dancer, she was recognized nationally as a tap soloist. She has extensive training in tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary. Kristin currently studies dance at Winthrop University where she will graduate in the spring of 2016 with a BA in Dance Performance and BS in Biology. As a dance major she has choreographed and performed in showcases, been a member of the repertory dance theatre group, and performed as a Winthrop Rockette. Kristin has danced at the Atlanta Fringe Festival, the inauguration celebration of Winthrop’s former president, and ACDA. Kristin is fun, encouraging, and excited to share her love for dance with dancers of all ages.
